Meeting a Need

Established by leaders of Bermuda's insurance industry in 1996, BFIS is tasked with ensuring that Bermudian students are provided with opportunities to attain the education and training necessary for careers in Bermuda's insurance industry.

This is being achieved through scholarships, mentoring, internships and career guidance.

Insurance Advisory Committee The IAC advises the Bermuda Government on matters relating to the insurance and reinsurance industries.

Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers
ABIR represents the public policy interests of Bermuda's Class 4 insurers and reinsurers around the world.
Bermuda Captive Owners Association
BCOA was created in 2005 with the general intent of establishing a forum for the exchange of ideas and to promote the interest of their captives.
Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters
CPCU Bermuda Chapter is a property casualty insurance underwriters professional organization offering continued insurance education plus social seminars.
Bermuda Insurance Management Association
BIMA is an association of professional insurance managers in Bermuda. The Association's principal role is to liaise with Government and other bodies on matters affecting the insurance industry.

BIRBABermuda Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers Association
BIRBA was formed in 1980. There are currently 30 member companies including the local representatives of major international broking houses and small independent intermediaries.
Bermuda Independent Underwriters Association BIUA is an unincorporated, non-profit association of professional underwriting companies which are domiciled and licensed in Bermuda, and which are actively engaged in the business of insurance and/or reinsurance.
Bermuda Under 40s
A social group for younger insurance professionals which promote and foster interest and knowledge in all areas of insurance and reinsurance.

CII is the UK on-line professional designations courses for those working in the insurance and financial services industry.
Reinsurance Association of America
RAA is the official trade association of property and casualty reinsurers doing business in the United States.

Insurance Institute of Canada
The educational arm of the property and casualty insurance industry in Canada.
Risk Management Society
RIMS is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the practice of risk management.
