Established by leaders of Bermuda's insurance industry in 1996, BFIS is tasked with ensuring that Bermudian students are provided with opportunities to attain the education and training necessary for careers in Bermuda's insurance industry.
This is being achieved through scholarships, mentoring, internships and career guidance.

Opportunity for Bermuda College students
Renaissance Reinsurance is again offering to sponsor 5 Bermuda College students to attend the Reinsurance Association of America ReUnderwriting 2-day seminar being held at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess on March 20-21, 2012. Students who recently graduated university and have not yet entered the insurance industry can also apply.
This year the seminar is on Reinsurance Underwriting. It is a two-day interactive program that will expand underwriting expertise and enhance technical skills.
Although designed for professionals, it is a great opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain an understanding of underwriting which they may not have come across in their academic studies, as well as being a wonderful opportunity to network with a great cross-section of Bermuda’s insurance professionals.
