Students learn about actuarial careers

At the recent Careers Fair a number of high school students who enjoy mathematics signed up at the BFIS booth to learn more about careers in actuarial science and today they were treated to a lunch n’ learn by Validus Holdings – a BFIS donor company. They were hosted by 2 former BFIS scholars, James Botelho and Daniel Barker who now work as actuaries at Validus, and were welcomed by Romel Salam, Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer.

The students who took this opportunity to learn what Actuarial Science is all about were Donte Burgess, Jasekani Furbert-Wade, Mikaela O’Brien, Shallette Spencer, Asia Smith and Kentrell Williams from Cedarbridge Academy, Yuki Sun from Saltus and Krislyn Lambert from Bermuda Institute.
