BFIS interns head to London

BFIS London Interns (from left): Antionay Tankard (Senior – Howard University, DC – Finance), Victoria Borges (graduated this May from St. Mary’s University, Halifax – Finance ) will be meeting up in London with Robert Jardine (Senior – St. Andrew’s University, UK – Financial Economics) and Sanae Russell (Senior – St. John’s University, NY – Risk Management).

The programme runs from Tuesday, May 31 to June 10 and the syllabus is intensive involving meeting with two different companies and insurance–related organizations each day for work-shadowing and presentations. In addition, each student has to prepare a report on a company of their choice along the lines of the Bermuda Insurance Diploma Market Research Paper.

As a group the interns are required do or see at least 10 places of interest for educational purposes as well as fun, such as a boat trip to Greenwich or finding where Edward Lloyd opened his Coffee House in 1688. On their return the London students will make a presentation to the Board of Trustees and BFIS Member Representatives along with the Bermuda and Chicago interns.
