Established by leaders of Bermuda's insurance industry in 1996, BFIS is tasked with ensuring that Bermudian students are provided with opportunities to attain the education and training necessary for careers in Bermuda's insurance industry.
This is being achieved through scholarships, mentoring, internships and career guidance.

Home school students learn about insurance
The students had viewed the BFIS documentary ‘Set To Succeed’ which is all about Bermuda’s insurance industry, it’s history, jobs, and young Bermudians talking about why they enjoy working in insurance and what it took to start their careers. Over a pizza lunch they were able to use what they’d seen on the video to question Jonathan and Travis about their jobs, their education, what college was like and what it is like to be sent overseas to work for their company.
